Spoilers ahead for the September 24, 2026 episode of General Hospital.
Thursday’s episode of General Hospital was a strong example of the soap at its best: complicated family relationships, questionable alliances, romantic tension and a final reveal that immediately changes the dynamics in Port Charles.
The episode didn’t rely on one gigantic action sequence to create drama. Instead, it steadily moved several major stories forward before delivering its biggest surprise in the final moments.
And that surprise belonged to Jordan Ashford and Monet Mitchell.
Monet and Tracy Go to War
The newest legal powerhouse in Port Charles wasted no time making her presence felt.
Monet confronted Tracy Quartermaine over Chase’s desire to move back into the Quartermaine mansion so he can remain close to his daughter, Phoebe. Tracy clearly isn’t interested in making things easy for Chase or Brook Lynn, but Monet isn’t intimidated by Tracy’s reputation.
Their confrontation was one of the episode’s strongest scenes.
What makes Monet interesting is that she isn’t behaving like a typical newcomer who needs weeks to establish herself. She’s already willing to challenge one of Port Charles’ most formidable personalities.
Blythe Howard gives Monet an appropriately confident edge, while Jane Elliot continues to make Tracy’s combination of arrogance and intelligence enormously entertaining.
The question now is whether Monet is genuinely fighting for Chase or whether she has another agenda.
Chase and Willow Cross a Dangerous Line
The Chase-Willow storyline took another significant step forward.
Chase confided in Willow about his uncertain future with Brook Lynn and his concerns about protecting his relationship with Phoebe. Willow encouraged him to return to the Quartermaine home, arguing that maintaining stability for his daughter should be the priority.
The conversation itself was fairly innocent.
Willow’s imagination was another matter.
Her fantasy about Chase provided one of the episode’s biggest soap-opera moments and makes the situation considerably more complicated. The attraction between these two characters is becoming increasingly difficult to dismiss, particularly with their respective relationships already under enormous strain.
And there’s another problem:
Drew saw them together.
That gives Drew potentially explosive information that could be used against Willow, Chase or both.
Tracy’s Scheme Takes a Dark Turn
Perhaps the most deliciously manipulative storyline involved Tracy and Michael.
Once Chase agrees to move back into the Quartermaine mansion, Tracy reveals that she wants to manipulate the situation between Chase and Willow.
Her objective is to create the appearance of an affair between them so Brook Lynn could potentially gain an advantage in the custody battle.
Michael’s willingness to participate makes the entire scheme even more troubling.
It’s classic Quartermaine plotting: complicated, ruthless and driven by the belief that the family knows what’s best for everyone else.
The problem is that schemes like this rarely stay under control in Port Charles.
Sonny and Ava’s Custody War Escalates
The confrontation between Sonny Corinthos and Ava Jerome continues to demonstrate just how personal their battle over Avery has become.
Ava is furious over Sonny’s plans involving their daughter, while Sonny makes it clear that he believes his position gives him considerable authority over the situation.
Their argument eventually pushes Ava toward an increasingly dangerous alliance with Drew Cain.
That’s a pairing that should make every character involved nervous.
Ava doesn’t trust Drew, and Drew has plenty of his own history with the people around him. Yet their shared opposition to Sonny is enough to bring them together.
Whether that alliance can survive their mutual distrust is another question.
Sidwell Turns to Alexis
The episode also gave Jenz Sidwell one of his more desperate moments.
Sidwell asked Alexis Davis to represent him, claiming that he needs another chance legally and expressing fear that Sonny wants him dead.
Alexis isn’t immediately persuaded.
And why would she be?
Sidwell has spent plenty of time creating enemies, and now that he’s behind bars, he’s discovering just how vulnerable he has become.
His desperation is interesting because it reverses the power dynamic we’ve seen from him previously.
The man who once appeared to have answers and leverage is now asking someone else for protection.
Jordan’s Secret Comes Back to Her
Jordan’s confrontation with Justine over her relationship with Sonny adds another layer to the episode.
Jordan knows exactly how damaging Sonny’s history could be to Justine’s public career, particularly given her position.
But Jordan’s own personal life is about to become much more complicated.
After her confrontation with Justine, Jordan encounters Monet.
And then comes the bombshell:
Monet is Jordan’s younger sister.
The revelation instantly changes how viewers should look at Monet’s arrival in Port Charles.
This isn’t simply a lawyer who wandered into town because Chase needed representation.
Monet has a personal connection to one of Port Charles’ most important characters.
Even more intriguing, the sisters are estranged.
Monet’s behavior toward Jordan suggests that whatever happened between them wasn’t resolved quietly. She even makes a pointed comment about Jordan’s facial scars, immediately establishing that their reunion isn’t going to be warm and sentimental.
The Episode’s Biggest Strength: Relationships
What makes this episode work is that almost every storyline revolves around relationships.
Chase and Brook Lynn.
Chase and Willow.
Drew and Willow.
Sonny and Ava.
Jordan and Justine.
Jordan and Monet.
Sidwell and Alexis.
Even Tracy and Michael are connected through family loyalty and manipulation.
That gives the episode a strong thematic consistency despite the number of stories being told.
Everyone wants something from someone else.
And almost nobody is being completely honest about what they really want.
Final Verdict
The September 24 episode of General Hospital successfully moves several major stories forward while saving its strongest twist for the final moments.
The introduction of Monet has already added some much-needed tension to the Chase custody storyline, but revealing her as Jordan’s estranged sister makes her arrival considerably more important.
The Chase-Willow situation is also approaching a breaking point, particularly with Drew now aware of their growing closeness and Tracy actively trying to manipulate the situation.
Meanwhile, Sonny and Ava’s custody battle is becoming increasingly personal, and Sidwell’s desperation gives his storyline a darker edge.
The episode isn’t perfect. Some of the plotting around the custody battle stretches soap logic, and the number of schemes being developed simultaneously can occasionally feel excessive.
But that’s also part of the fun.
Rating: 8.5/10
Bottom Line
General Hospital delivered a compelling September 24 episode that balanced romantic tension, family conflict and old-fashioned Port Charles scheming. The Monet-Jordan reveal was the clear highlight, but the more important development may be what happens next: Why did these sisters become estranged, and why did Monet choose Port Charles now?
That question gives GH another mystery to play with—and this time, it’s a deeply personal one.
