Spoilers ahead for the September 24 episode of Ring of Honor.
The latest episode of Ring of Honor delivered a solid night of wrestling on HonorClub, with championship Proving Ground matches, important developments involving Athena and Deonna Purrazzo, and a chaotic main event between The Lethal Twist and The Dark Order.
The episode featured seven matches and continued building several storylines heading into the next phase of ROH programming.
Lee Moriarty Opens the Show
ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty kicked off the in-ring action against Serpentico in a Pure Championship Proving Ground match.
Moriarty continued to showcase the technical wrestling that has made him one of ROH’s most difficult competitors to deal with. Serpentico battled hard, but the champion eventually forced him to submit with the Border City Stretch.
The victory allowed Moriarty to continue establishing his dominance in the Pure division while keeping the championship firmly in his possession.
Deonna Purrazzo Survives Rebecca Scott
ROH Women’s Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo also competed in a Proving Ground match, facing Rebecca Scott.
Scott gave Purrazzo a legitimate challenge and repeatedly countered the champion’s attempts to lock in her submission game. The match featured several reversals and near-falls before Purrazzo eventually gained control.
Purrazzo ultimately secured the victory with the Venus de Milo.
The bigger story, however, remained the growing tension between Purrazzo and Emi Sakura.
Sakura previously turned on Purrazzo and made it clear that she wants the Women’s Pure Championship. Purrazzo addressed the situation during the episode, arguing that Sakura could have simply asked for a title opportunity rather than attacking her.
That confrontation feels increasingly likely to become one of the division’s next major programs.
Mark Davis Defeats Main Man Oro
Mark Davis continued his run through ROH competition with a victory over “Main Man” Oro.
Davis relied on his physicality throughout the match before finishing Oro with the Doctor Driver.
It was another straightforward showcase for Davis and another reminder of just how dangerous his power game can be.
Athena and Billie Starkz Team Up
One of the night’s more entertaining matches saw Athena and Billie Starkz team up against Viva Van and VertVixen.
The match had plenty of fast-paced exchanges, with Van and VertVixen repeatedly attempting to isolate Starkz.
Athena eventually took control, and the champions’ side of the team combination proved too much to overcome.
Athena and Starkz picked up the victory after Athena hit the lifting facebuster on Viva Van.
The match also featured an interesting moment when Athena accidentally struck Starkz while trying to stop Van.
Whether that was truly accidental or simply another sign of the complicated relationship between Athena and Starkz is something worth watching.
Tommy Billington Keeps Rolling
Tommy Billington defeated Alan Angels in another competitive singles match.
Billington continued to show the combination of technical ability and physical aggression that has made him one of ROH’s more intriguing young wrestlers.
He finished Angels with a piledriver.
Preston Vance Scores a Submission Victory
Preston Vance made relatively quick work of Jarett Diaz, forcing him to submit with the Full Nelson Hold.
The more interesting development came after the match.
Vance attempted to play peacemaker when tensions later erupted between Dark Order members Alex Reynolds and John Silver.
Silver wasn’t interested.
That moment would become particularly important by the end of the show.
Lethal Twist vs. Dark Order
The main event featured ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Lethal Twist — Jay Lethal, Blake Christian and Lee Johnson — defending against The Dark Order’s Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds and John Silver.
The match quickly became chaotic.
Dark Order repeatedly isolated Jay Lethal, forcing Christian and Johnson to make saves. The challengers appeared to have the champions in serious trouble at several points, including after a series of triple-team attacks.
The Lethal Twist eventually managed to regain control.
The action became an all-out brawl as both teams traded finishing sequences and near-falls.
Dark Order came extremely close to winning the championship when Silver began dominating the champions on his own. Silver even hit a brainbuster on Lethal, leaving the champions in serious danger.
But an unfortunate moment involving Dark Order changed everything.
Alex Reynolds accidentally struck John Silver with a discus elbow.
That opened the door for Blake Christian and Lee Johnson.
Christian hit a double stomp, followed by Johnson’s Spicolli Driver, allowing Lethal Twist to score the three-count and retain the Six-Man Tag Team Championship.
Dark Order’s Problems Get Worse
The most important development may have happened after the match.
Reynolds and Silver began arguing over the accidental collision.
Preston Vance entered the ring and tried to calm things down, but Silver told him to leave because he wasn’t part of the group.
Even with the crowd encouraging them to “hug it out,” Silver walked away.
That ending leaves Dark Order with a serious internal problem.
The team was already struggling to maintain unity, and now Silver’s frustration with Reynolds and Vance’s attempt to intervene have created even more tension.
Final Thoughts
The September 24 episode of ROH was a strong wrestling-focused show that continued several important stories without relying on excessive outside interference.
The Pure Championship matches gave the episode a technical foundation, while the women’s division continued developing the Purrazzo-Sakura rivalry.
But the biggest takeaway was unquestionably the main event.
The Lethal Twist survived Dark Order, but Dark Order may have lost something more important than the match.
The Six-Man Championship remains with Lethal, Christian and Johnson, while the cracks inside Dark Order are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
The episode also continued establishing Athena, Billie Starkz, Deonna Purrazzo, Lee Moriarty and Mark Davis as important pieces of the ROH landscape.

Bottom Line
The September 24 edition of Ring of Honor delivered exactly what a weekly wrestling show should: competitive matches, championship action and storyline developments that give viewers reasons to return. The biggest question coming out of the episode isn’t whether Lethal Twist can retain the Six-Man titles — it’s whether Dark Order can remain together long enough to get another opportunity.
