ST PAUL, Minn. — One person was killed and another seriously injured after being struck by a Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office vehicle in St. Paul.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred as the deputy was attempting to assist state troopers in their pursuit of a reportedly stolen vehicle.
The crash occurred on Robert Street and 12th Street East.
The Minnesota State Patrol identified the person killed as 51-year-old Tha Wah of St. Paul. Four additional people were transported to the hospital with less severe injuries.
In the initial chase, the troopers used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle they were chasing and arrested the driver without incident, according to the release.
That driver, identified as Yusuf Osman Musse, 27, was taken into custody without further incident. Musse has a history of charges, including a recent count of possession of a pistol without a permit on February 23, 2026, and remains in Ramsey County Jail pending formal charges.
