A former elementary school teacher was sentenced Thursday after he was convicted on five counts of interfering with the privacy of a minor.
Jason Allen Bassett, 57, was sentenced to six days of work release and four years of supervised probation after previously pleading guilty in February.
As previously reported, Bassett was reportedly caught filming up the dresses of two students, ages 8 and 10, at Jefferson Elementary, where he used to teach.
The videos were discovered by Bassett’s ex-wife, who told authorities he had accidentally sent a video to his daughters in which he was pointing a camera up the dress of a minor.
When speaking to law enforcement, Bassett admitted he recorded the video, adding he did it “for the thrill of it,” and knew it was wrong.
