Shakopee-based amusement park Valleyfair has been sold, along with six other parks, to a real estate investment trust.
Six Flags announced the sale to EPR Properties in a deal valued at $342 million for the seven parks.
EPR will partner with Enchanted Parks to run Valleyfair, and all current park employees are expected to be transitioned to the new company.
The companies say Valleyfair will continue operating as normal through the 2026 season, and all 2026 season passes and memberships will be honored.
“Valleyfair guests can look forward to enjoying their visits as they always have throughout the 2026 season. This transition is not expected to affect the guest experience in any significant way,” a Six Flags spokesperson told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS.
The spokesperson added, “Our goal is to ensure a smooth, seamless experience so guests can continue making great memories at Valleyfair.”
Six Flags says the move is to “optimize and strengthen our park portfolio,” while EPR called its acquisition “a compelling opportunity to expand our attractions portfolio with high-quality experiential real estate assets in established regional markets.”
Valleyfair opened in 1976 and operates more than 75 rides, rollercoasters and other attractions on 125 acres in Shakopee. The park employs roughly 70 people year-round and another 1,600 seasonal workers.
Opening weekend in 2026 is set for May 9.
