A WWE star has sent a thank you message to William Regal, ahead of a change potentially being made to his role.
Robert Stone has been serving as the interim NXT general manager since February, following Ava’s departure from the company.
We could soon see Stone drop the “interim” from his title, with William Regal pulling him aside on the March 17 NXT episode to tell him that he will speak to Shawn Michaels about making Stone the permanent GM of NXT.
Robert Stone has now taken to Twitter to comment on this moment.
Expressing gratitude, Stone wrote:
Thank you, @RealKingRegal.
When HBK handed me the ball, I knew I had to think outside the box, embrace the chaos and turn it into something special. The goal has been simple every single week: push NXT to be the best it’s ever been.
New matchups. New concepts. That same electric NXT energy that this brand what it is.
And remember… Robert Stone will never die.

Robert Stone was appointed the interim NXT General Manager on the February 3 episode, in a backstage segment with Shawn Michaels.
Stone previously revealed that he had no idea that this was the plan ahead of this segment, noting that he was hoping he got the role, but knew anything can happen in pro-wrestling.
With Stone finding out that he had bagged the interim role at the same time as the fans, it would be fitting if Stone was officially appointed the official GM on a live show, perhaps at Stand & Deliver on April 4.
