On the second day of the NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings struck a deal with an NFC rival.
The Vikings traded OLB Jonathan Greenard and the 244th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for the 98th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and a third-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Greenard spent the first four seasons of his career with the Houston Texans before signing with the Vikings in 2024 as a free agent.
In two seasons and 29 games with the Vikings, Greenard proved productive, totaling 97 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, 34 QB hits, six passes defended and five forced fumbles. He also earned his first-ever Pro Bowl nod following the 2024 season.
The trade occurred with two seasons remaining on Greenard’s four-year deal, which provides the Vikings with salary cap space this year and increased financial flexibility for next year.
The Vikings are already attempting to fill the gap that Greenard will leave by drafting LB Jake Golday out of Cincinnati with the 51st pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
