Sherrone Moore Had Relationship With Woman Who Accused LaTroy Lewis of Assault

A disturbing sequence of events has unfolded involving former University of Michigan football staffers, centered on allegations of sexual assault, harassment, and institutional failures, according to a report by journalist Justin Spiro and subsequent developments. The timeline begins in late 2024 and extends to Lewis’ recent firing by the Atlanta Falcons on Feb. 27, 2026. The following texts, emails, and snapchats comes from Spiro’s reporting.

Initial Encounter and Alleged Escalation

LaTroy Lewis, then a Michigan assistant coach, met a woman referred to as Jane in reports to protect her identity, on a dating app in late 2024. Their interactions reportedly began consensually but quickly escalated into what appeared to be Lewis’ preference for degrading behavior, including verbal humiliation and threats framed as part of a kink dynamic. This allegedly crossed into non-consensual territory, culminating in a rape at an Ann Arbor hotel in December 2024.

Following the assault, Lewis is accused of continued abuse, including physical violence and harassing messages. A second incident occurred in January 2025 at Jane’s apartment, where the disturbance was loud enough for neighbors to call 911. Messages cited in the report include threats like “I’m going to fuck you up” and “I’d fucking kill you! Don’t play with me,” portraying a pattern of intimidation and control.

Reporting to Moore and Subsequent Relationship

In late 2024, shortly after the initial assault, Jane confided in then-head coach Sherrone Moore, now 40, about the rape and abuse by Lewis. As a mandated reporter under Title IX and university policies, Moore was required to notify authorities but allegedly failed to do so. Instead, he reportedly gave Lewis a raise and later recommended him for a position at the University of Toledo.

What began as Jane seeking support from Moore appeared to evolve into a consensual relationship between them. Court filings and messages suggest an intimate dynamic, with Moore sending graphic texts demanding sexual acts, such as “Get up, I need to get sucked now.”

While initially framed as harassment in reports, Jane’s reported upset reaction to Moore’s firing from Michigan on Dec. 10, 2025, indicates elements of mutual involvement and emotional attachment. This firing stemmed from a separate scandal involving an inappropriate relationship with executive assistant Paige Shiver, leading to Moore’s arrest on charges of felony home invasion and stalking.

Moore’s Claims Against Paige Shiver

In a separate but related controversy, Moore has accused Paige Shiver of framing him in the events leading to his dismissal and legal troubles. Moore’s attorney, Ellen Michaels, issued a statement on Feb. 18, 2026, asserting that communications between Moore and Shiver were professional in nature, given his supervisory role, and challenging the prosecution’s portrayal of them as harassing. The defense argues that Shiver’s report of their years-long relationship was weaponized to oust Moore while she retained her position, with social media and commentators labeling her as “half the problem” in the scandal. Shiver’s lawyer has countered by alleging a “long history” of abuse by Moore, framing him as manipulative. A judge recently granted a hearing to examine potential violations in the police investigation, providing Moore a minor legal win.

Police Report, Lewis’ Outreach and Firing

Jane formally went to the Ann Arbor Police Department in February 2026, filing a report on the 2024 assault and petitioning for a Personal Protection Order against Lewis. No charges have been filed against Lewis as of Feb. 27, 2026, but the investigation is ongoing.

Lewis, who had moved from Toledo in 2025 to UConn in January 2026 and then to the Falcons on Feb. 10, 2026, was at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis when Spiro’s report surfaced on Feb. 26, 2026. Lewis declined comment to Spiro but allegedly called Jane directly from his hotel room, prompting her to tell him not to contact her again. The Falcons issued a statement acknowledging the allegations and, by early afternoon on Feb. 27, 2026, announced Lewis’ dismissal after just 17 days on staff.
