Josh Lucas, Nick Searcy, Lorelei Olivia Mote, Austin Amelio, Spencer Treat Clark, Tim Blake Nelson, and Josh Duhamel have joined the Paramount pic The Rescue starring Brandon Sklenar. Hassie Harrison is also on board. Old Henry director Potsy Ponciroli will helm the film from a screenplay by John Fusco. Production is underway with the film set to bow Jan. 29, 2027.
Ponciroli will produce along with Shannon Houchins and Cliff Roberts. Down Home will exec produce. The logline is being kept under wraps, but The Rescue is a modern-day Western, in which a rodeo cowboy’s skills are put to the test outside the arena.
The film has been on high priority going back to when Skydance was developing prior to the Skydance-Paramount merger and marks one of the first films the new regime has greenlit.
Lucas is repped by WME and Liebman Entertainment, Searcy is repped by Link Entertainment and Atlas Talent Agency, Clark is repped by Gersh and Untitled Entertainment, Mote is repped by Paradigm and Aspire Talent Management, Amelio is repped by UTA and Stride Management, Nelson is repped by UTA and Gateway Management Company and Duhamel is repped by UTA and Range Media Partners.
