The franchise has reportedly agreed to deal quarterback Anthony Richardson. Debut of Daniel Jones last season cost Richardson, his starting position in Indianapolis.
Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports that the 23-year-old and the Colts have decided to look for a trade this offseason after he has been left out in the cold ever since.
In addition to being limited to just 17 games in three years due to several ailments, Richardson has had trouble with accuracy while he has been in Indianapolis.
After falling behind Jones in the hierarchy, he only completed one of his two passes in as many games as he did last year.
However, after breaking the orbital bone close to his eye in an odd pregame accident, the former Florida star wasn’t even active starting in mid-October. After he heals from an Achilles injury, Jones, a former member of the New York Giants, is likely to sign a new contract with the Colts and remain a starter.
Richardson won’t have many chances next season since Indianapolis thinks Riley Leonard, a 2025 sixth-round pick, can be his backup.
