A former teacher has been dismissed from his position after he was accused of criminal sexual conduct against a 14-year-old boy.

Beck Alexander Saine, 26, faces one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The charge was brought against Saine after Faribault police spoke with a 14-year-old boy on March 12, who told authorities he had been using the dating app “Grindr.” Court documents said the boy told police he had been using the app to connect with adult men, which included Saine.

The two eventually met in person, after Saine picked the boy up and took him to his apartment, where the alleged assault took place. While there, the boy said he told Saine he was 14, and that Saine replied that he taught science to kids that age.

The boy said that while he did not know Saine’s name at the time, he did know he taught at Shattuck St. Mary’s School in Faribault and had used the school’s website to identify Saine.

The boy was not a student at Shattuck St. Mary’s, according to the school.

Saine was arrested and declined to speak with authorities.

In a statement from Shattuck St. Mary’s, the school announced Saine had since been terminated from his position after authorities informed the school of his arrest.

“The individual in question has been terminated and is prohibited from entering the school’s campus,” the statement read. “While the police department confirmed that the alleged incident did not involve a Shattuck student, the school is taking all necessary precautions to ensure the continued safety of its community.”

The school says it is cooperating with the Faribault police as they continue their investigation.
