While the Timberwolves walked away with victory on Saturday, Sunday morning brought devastating news about two of their players.
Anthony Edwards, who went down late in the first half of Game 4 against the Denver Nuggets, was diagnosed with a significant bone bruise in his left knee. While there appears to be no ligament damage, he is expected to miss at least a “few weeks” because of the injury.
Also missing time on the court will be Donte DiVincenzo, who will not play for the rest of the postseason and may not be able to play all of next season either. The guard tore his right achilles early in the game and has a 9 to 12-month recovery window.
The Timberwolves currently lead the series against the Nuggets in the first round of the NBA Playoffs 3-1. They will have a chance to advance to the next round on Monday when they play in Denver; tip-off is set for 9:30 p.m.
