Two men were hurt, and three suspects were arrested in connection with a shooting in downtown St. Paul on Monday.
St. Paul police said officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired at the RiverCentre parking ramp around 5:30 p.m.

After arriving at the incident, law enforcement heard gunfire from multiple areas downtown and secured three scenes: outside the Grand Casino Arena, the RiverCentre parking ramp and outside the Ordway.

Two men, both young adults, were found with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, according to police, who added that three suspects were taken into custody nearby a short time later.
Police are investigating the shooting.
St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her expressed concern for the victims on Facebook on Monday night; her full statement is below.
“My heart goes out to the two people who were victims of gunshot wounds downtown this evening. I’m keeping them and their loved ones in my thoughts. I want to thank our Saint Paul Police officers for their immediate response to secure the scene, apprehend suspects, and investigate the incident. We will work diligently with them and our Office of Neighborhood Safety to make sure are doing everything we can to continue interrupting and preventing gun violence in our city. That includes asking the legislature to fund our Nonfatal Shooting Unit, expand it to other cities, and deepen our prevention and community partnerships.
“The Police Department will continue to update the public when we know more.”
West Fifth Street and Kellogg Boulevard at West Seventh Street were blocked off for several hours following the shooting.

A Metro State University graduation ceremony took place at the RiverCentre before the shooting. The ceremony ended at 5 p.m.
