Lamar Odom is back in the headlines, and this time he’s calling timeout on a pretty wild claim from his ex-wife, Khloe Kardashian.
So here’s the situation. Khloe dropped a bombshell, saying that during Lamar’s 2015 overdose crisis, his own dad wanted to “pull the plug.” Yes, that kind of plug. The life-support kind, the “this just got very serious, very fast” kind.
And Lamar? He’s not having it at all.
According to Odom, he doesn’t believe Khloe’s claim that his own father wanted him dead during his 2015 overdose. Blood is thicker than water kind of situation.
During an April 6 appearance on Today With Jenna & Sheinelle, host Jenna Bush Hager asked Lamar if he felt that Khloe had saved his life.
“In some ways,” the 46-year-old replied. “God saved my life. My lord saved my life, honestly.”
As Jenna and co-host Sheinelle Jones noted, Khloe had filed for divorce from Lamar after six years of marriage shortly before his health scare. However, she stayed by his side as he recovered from the six heart attacks and 12 strokes he suffered while he was in a coma for three days.
“She took care of me,” Lamar admitted, “but God took care of me the most. What I came back from is like a medical miracle.”
Lamar Odom is standing by his father and letting the world know that Khloe Kardashian lied.
“You know, I was knocked out and asleep at that time,” Lamar explained. “If you know Joe Odom, I don’t think that’s something that would ever come out of his mouth. He was my biggest fan. I don’t know where that got mistranslated.”
He added, “I just can’t see him ever, ever doing that.”
At the end of the day, it’s one of those he-said, she-said situations with very high stakes and very loud headlines. The truth? Probably somewhere in the middle, hiding quietly while everyone else debates.
One thing is clear though: this story isn’t flatlining anytime soon.
