Lucy Boynton, Babou Ceesay and Peter Mullan have joined the second season of HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Boynton will play Lady Rohanne, Ceesay will be Ser Bennis and Mullan is Ser Eustace Osgrey in the Game of Thrones universe series, which is set around 90 years before the original series’ timeline begins.
Boynton is known for roles in A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story and Bohemian Rhapsody, while Ceesay has starred in Alien: Earth and Damilola, Our Loved Boy. Mullan is known for the likes of Ozark and I Swear.
The well-received first season ended on HBO on February 22, starring Pete Claffey as awkward hedge knight Ser Duncan ‘Dunk’ the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg, who is revealed to be Prince Aegon Targaryen.
Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, the series follows the exploits of young knight Dunk and his child friend Egg as they travel across Westeros having adventures.
Shooting on Season 2 began in December. Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin and Ira Parker are the co-creators, with Parker also acting as showrunner and executive producer. Sarah Bradshaw, Owen Harris, Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis are also exec producers.
It’s gearing up to be a big year for the Game of Thrones universe, with House of the Dragon Season 3 set to drop on HBO in June. News broke yesterday that Andor‘s Beau Willimon has boarded a Game of Thrones movie, which will follow the story of Aegon I, the first Lord of the Seven Kingdoms who conquered Westeros and spawned the Targaryen dynasty.
