Chelsea Green has reacted to Randy Orton attacking her husband Matt Cardona on this week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
With Randy Orton brutalizing his WrestleMania 42 opponent – WWE Champion Cody Rhodes – on last week’s SmackDown episode, Matt Cardona became the Viper’s latest victim on the March 20 show.
After trying to get Nick Aldis to book him vs Randy Orton on Friday’s episode, Cardona joined Orton in the ring after the Viper vowed to issue an apology.
This moment of self-reflection was ultimately short-lived, with Orton dropping Cardona with a low blow. The beatdown continued, ending with Orton stomping on a chair wrapped around Cardona’s arm.
Chelsea Green has now taken to Twitter to react to the segment.
Re-sharing WWE’s video of the moment things got physical, Green wrote:

Chelsea Green has previously offered Orton a position as “Secretary of Sssslay” in her Secret Hervice after the Viper wore a fan’s Chelsea Green merchandise at Elimination Chamber, but following SmackDown, Orton will no longer be in her good books.
Interestingly, Randy Orton earned a shot at the WWE Championship at WrestleMania by pinning Cody Rhodes, with the duo being the final two participants in February’s Elimination Chamber match.
As Drew McIntyre’s interference influenced the result of this match, Nick Aldis ordered McIntyre to defend the WWE Title against Rhodes on the March 6 SmackDown episode, with the American Nightmare ultimately being victorious.
Matt Cardona and Cody Rhodes are established friends both on WWE TV and away from the ring. Cardona’s involvement in this feud puts the returning star in the same conversation as the WWE Championship – the final title he has to win to be considered a WWE Grand Slam Champion.
WrestleMania 42 will emanate from Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on April 18 and 19.
