The actor and director faced an arrest warrant by Albuquerque, New Mexico, police for two counts of alleged criminal sexual contact of a minor and child abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actor and director Timothy Busfield<\/a> has turned himself in to authorities in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after a warrant was issued for his arrest<\/a> on Friday on two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and child abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly before surrendering, Busfield released a video to TMZ<\/a> in which he said he would be surrendering and that he \u201cdid not do anything wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Busfield said he traveled to Albuquerque after he \u201cgot the call Friday night.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI had to get a lawyer,\u201d he added. \u201cSaturday, I got in the car, drove 2,000 miles to Albuquerque. I\u2019m gonna confront these lies. They\u2019re horrible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He continued, \u201cThey\u2019re all lies, and I did not do anything to those little boys, and I\u2019m gonna fight it. I\u2019m gonna fight it with a great team, and I\u2019m gonna be exonerated, I know I am, because this is all so wrong and all lies. So hang in there, and hopefully I\u2019m out real soon and back to work. I love everybody for supporting me, thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The charges and arrest follow alleged incidents<\/a> involving two underage actors on the set of the Warner Bros. Television<\/a> and Fox Entertainment series The Cleaning Lady<\/a><\/em>, which aired on Fox between late 2022 and early 2024, where Busfield served as a director. An affidavit from an Albuquerque police investigation alleged sexual abuse involving two boys on the set of the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the children told an interviewer that Busfield touched him for the first time when he was 7 years old, on set. He detailed another incident that took place when he was 8 years old, again on set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the police investigation, Busfield said Warner Bros. Television conducted its own investigation into the child sexual abuse claims. The affidavit pointed to a 2025 investigation following SAG-AFTRA receiving an anonymous complaint relating to an alleged separate incident on the set of The Cleaning Lady<\/em> in December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WB TV, in an earlier statement obtained by\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter,<\/em>\u00a0wrote: \u201cThe health and safety of our cast and crew is always our top priority, especially the safety of minors on our productions. We take all allegations of misconduct very seriously and have systems in place to promptly and thoroughly investigate, and when needed, take appropriate action. We are aware of the current charges against Mr. Busfield and have been and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
