{"id":8047,"date":"2026-05-05T15:46:56","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T20:46:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wdepradio.com\/?p=8047"},"modified":"2026-05-05T15:46:58","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T20:46:58","slug":"i-35-drivers-hit-by-rocks-oil-in-rush-city-ccso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wdepradio.com\/?p=8047","title":{"rendered":"I-35 drivers hit by rocks, oil in Rush City: CCSO"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"javascript:void(0);\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Multiple vehicles were damaged after rocks and oil were thrown from a bridge onto I-35 near the Rush City area, according to the Chisago County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several reports came last week of passing vehicles near 530th Street being hit by large rocks and a significant amount of oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputies say that the road was covered with what appeared to be vehicle oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the victims, Westyn Willem, described what he drove over as a boulder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was like, Thor\u2019s hammer, just boom!\u201d Willem told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS, \u201cIt was crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNext thing I know, I just see, like, a rock, like [jump up from the road], and it just, like, took my whole underside of my car out,\u201d Willem added about what he calls his now totaled car.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A passenger of Willems, Carter Quiggle, said he didn\u2019t see it coming.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was about half asleep, and opened my eyes, and the car basically just takes flight, almost,\u201d Quiggle said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two feel lucky to be alive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c100% could have been way worse. I mean, it\u2019s ridiculous. If it would have been like this much off, it could have for sure killed someone,\u201d Willem said. \u201cOr if it hit my wheel, we for sure would have flipped over into the side of the ditch, like it was, it was crazy. It was ridiculous.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leaving this message for those responsible, \u201cI mean, I couldn\u2019t imagine you\u2019re gonna own up to it, but you should know what you\u2019ve done. You should feel dirty for that.
