U.S. House Oversight Committee<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison will testify before Congress amid federal investigations into widespread fraud allegations in state programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), the chairman of the U.S. House Oversight Committee, confirmed Friday that Walz and Ellison have set time to testify before the committee on March 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That will be part of the panel\u2019s second hearing in its \u201cOversight of Fraud and Misuse of Federal Funds in Minnesota\u201d investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last week, in the committee\u2019s first hearing on Minnesota fraud, former fraud investigator Scott Dexter said the spotlight on day care fraud in the state isn\u2019t new and claimed some former recommendations to improve security were never implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comer announced the investigation last month, claiming the state tried to cover up fraud and retaliate against whistleblowers. It\u2019s just one part of a federal focus on Minnesota fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
