Following the second fatal ICE<\/a> shooting of a Minneapolis resident, Michael Che took aim at the government agency on \u2018Weekend Update<\/a>\u2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Saturday Night Live<\/a><\/em> star slammed ICE agents as inhuman following Saturday\u2019s killing of 37-year old ICU nurse Alex Pretti<\/a>, which the Department of Homeland Security claimed was necessary force, despite contradicting bystander videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI get that ICE agents are people, allegedly,\u201d Che jabbed on this weekend\u2019s episode. \u201cAnd they have a job to do. But at some point while you\u2019re pepper-spraying old ladies or shooting at a nurse, you ever stop and ask yourself, \u2018Are we d\u2014s?’\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously in the segment, Che called out Vice President JD Vance\u2019s response to the killing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJD Vance criticized protesters confronting ICE officers, saying they should instead write an op-ed or argue about it on social media,\u201d said Che, before displaying a photo of the Jan. 6 insurrection. \u201cYou know, just like these young scholars did on January 6th.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man killed on Saturday was identified as Alex Jeffrey Pretti<\/a>, a US citizen and an ICU nurse at the Department of Veterans Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As was the case with the fatal shooting of Renee Good earlier this month, bystander video quickly emerged on social media, pitting the images up against the version of events relayed by the Department of Homeland Security. The eyewitness videos quickly raised doubts among\u00a0Minnesota\u00a0officials, legal analysts, and some gun rights advocates over the Trump administration\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At an earlier press conference, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called on Donald Trump to remove the federal presence of ICE and border patrol officers from the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
