Is Joe Budden rooting for violence?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Budden\u2019s recent, widely criticized remark that he\u2019s \u201crooting\u201d for violence against streamer Adin Ross escalated an already tense online feud \u2013 one that Budden possibly helped fuel months earlier by questioning Doechii\u2019s authenticity and saying he understands why people think she might be an \u201cindustry plant.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recording artist Glasses Malone publicly checked Ross after he heard Ross\u2019 disturbing comments, calling Doechii awful, unnecessary names. Malone said, \u201cI don\u2019t give a fk if you think that s<\/strong>t dissing you. You not finna just be sitting up there talking shit about that Black woman. On God, bro. If you keep doing it, I’m going to start pressin’ all the nas around you\u2026 and I’m gonna make it my business to get Crps to start pressin’ the n<\/em><\/strong>as around. All the n<\/em>**as that’s Black around you.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reportedly, Budden made his remarks while discussing the controversy and Doechii\u2019s new song \u201cgirl, get up.\u201d on his podcast. He said he thought several lines were aimed at Ross. \u201cI do want to say I\u2019m rooting for Glasses Malone to get all the Crips together to beat up [Adin Ross],\u201d Budden said on the show. \u201cI am. Sorry. \u2019Cause I think that\u2019s who she was talking to on the song.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Budden\u2019s wish for violence on Ross prompted immediate backlash online and a public response from Ross and his supporters. \u201cJoe Budden, I\u2019ve got police with me and I\u2019m in your city. What are you going to do?\u201d Ross said on a livestream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Word of Malone\u2019s comments reached Ross quickly and he jumped on stream and fired back, calling Malone a \u201cfat simp\u201d and warning he\u2019d call the police if Glasses ever tried to approach him. Ross also doubled down on his view that Doechii is an \u201cindustry plant,\u201d saying he has the right to voice that opinion \u2014 a stance critics say ignores the particular scrutiny dark-skinned Black women face online and that, as some observers put it, can amplify racist and misogynistic backlash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malone responded immediately and aggressively, accusing Ross of arranging protection through Wack100 behind the scenes. \u201cWack is not gonna stop me from doing what I wanna do. That\u2019s just not the relationship\u2026He know I\u2019m gone move on whatever I\u2019m supposed to move on the right way,\u201d he said on stream. When Ross threatened to call police, Glasses taunted that he wouldn\u2019t run. \u201cWhat in the fck make you think if I\u2019m saying this on this fcking camera\u2026n*gga I\u2019m not running\u2026 I\u2019ll be right there when they show up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doechii has publicly pushed back on the \u201cindustry plant\u201d narrative \u2014 most recently in her single \u201cgirl, get up.\u201d \u2014 and her team and allies have called out critics for undercutting her achievements. People reported that the new song directly confronts the allegation, while TDE-affiliated voices and Doechii\u2019s DJ have also defended her on social platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
