The NFL Draft hasn’t even started yet, and somehow, we already have romance rumors. Enter Ty Simpson, who apparently decided the best way to boost his draft stock was flirting on live TV. Bold strategy, very bold!
So here’s what happened. Simpson appeared on the Up & Adams show, hosted by Kay Adams, and instead of just talking football like a normal draft prospect, he chose chaos. While discussing potential teams and the draft, Simpson casually started pitching ideas and somehow, it felt less like football talk and more like he was auditioning for a rom-com.
Aside from that, they talked about the Draft and all of that.
During a recent appearance on the Up & Adams show, the Alabama signal-caller fueled draft rumors by pitching a “package deal” to a Browns team that holds the No. 6 and No. 24 picks. Pointing to himself and Ohio State star receiver Carnell Tate—who both took their “Top 30” visits to the Browns’ facility on the same day—Simpson told Adams that he’d love to team up with his Buckeye buddy.
While Simpson and Adams are leaning into the narrative, the reality for Andrew Berry is more complex. The Browns are currently set to let sophomore Shedeur Sanders and veteran Deshaun Watson battle for the starting job. After Sanders showed flashes in seven starts last season, many believe Cleveland should spend 2026 seeing if he’s the real answer rather than taking another “QB flier” on a prospect like Simpson.
Simpson echoed that sentiment, noting that his father, Jason, and Monken “go way back” and “talk often.” He added, “I think I’d be in great hands… coach Monken, what he does with the quarterbacks and the offense is super quarterback-friendly.”
And Kay? Professional as ever. Smiling, laughing, keeping the show moving while probably thinking, “Sir, I asked about your draft plans, not your feelings.”
At the end of the day, nothing was confirmed. No numbers exchanged (that we know of), no dramatic ending. Just vibes, flirty, slightly awkward, internet-breaking vibes.
But hey, if football doesn’t work out, Ty Simpson clearly has a future in reality TV.
