Body in Mississippi River identified as 50-year-old St. Paul man

Police pulled the body of a man from the Mississippi River Friday.

According to the Ramsey County sheriff’s office, about 3:30 p.m. the St. Paul police and Ramsey County sheriff’s water patrol were dispatched to the river in an area near the intersection of St. Clair Avenue and Mississippi River Boulevard in the Macalester-Groveland neighborhood.

Police identified the body as a 50-year-old man from St. Paul.

The body was released to the Ramsey County medical examiner’s office and his identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Hennepin County sheriff’s water patrol assisted with the recovery.
